After much deliberation, numerous voting sessions, and internet surfing for dog names, the dog has been named Bronco. Upon deciding, the mom ( who has had enough of this indecision and constant fighting over the dog's name) practically tossed everyone in the car and sped to PetSmart to seal the name with an engraved dog tag. Ahhh! It's done. Now, we only have 1 week until the pup arrives!

I love, love, love your blog! You are sooo funny. Potty Training can be interesting. Both people and dogs :) If he is a boy getting him "snipped" helps with him marking what he considers "his". Be consistent and a little mean. We have always rubbed our dogs nose in the yucky (not in it just right above it) and swat the bum a bit. It really works. They wont go to the bathroom if it is in a space they have to be in a like a dog house etc. It will take a few accidents like that and they learn to hold it. Have them in that space to sleep at first or while you are away. They will yelp and cry at first but it stops and the end up likeing it. I wish dogs would take a pacifier. We had a chuwawa (spl?) and it helped if when we had him in the house to have him on a leash until he was potty trained. He was always with us and wouldn't wander off to do his deed. Hey, they like privacy just like the rest of us. We were able to see his signs. He was a buger when it came to potty training but that really helped. Your kids will do great. This little guy will become part of your family and how lucky he will be to have such a wonderful fam. I can't wait to meet him. Congrats... We really dog sit.
